The former name of a village (Kiyomi Village) in Ono County, northern Gifu Prefecture. The area now occupies the central part of Takayama City. In 2005, the former Kiyomi Village was incorporated into Takayama City along with two surrounding towns and six villages. It is located in the center of the Hida Highlands. National Routes 158, 257, and 472 run through the area. The Hida Kiyomi Interchange on the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway is also located here. The eastern part of the area is the upper reaches of the Kaore River, a tributary of the Miya River, and forms the central area. The northwestern part is the upper reaches of the Odori River, and the southern part is the upper reaches of the Maze River, a tributary of the Hida River, and both are depopulated areas. Forestry and livestock are important, and there is a prefectural breeding farm and a shared-use model ranch, and beef cattle breeding is thriving. Furniture manufacturing is the main industry.
