Tel Halaf (English)

...Tel Halaf, located on the River Harbour near the Turkish border in Syria, is a prehistoric culture in northern Mesopotamia characterized by painted pottery excavated by the German MF von Oppenheim in 1911-13 and 1929. This pottery is a magnificent example that is considered the pinnacle of West Asian pottery.
