...The first of these was the high school attached to Tokyo Women's Normal School (the predecessor of Ochanomizu University) in 1882. The school was renamed Tokyo Women's School from Kyoritsu Girls' School, which was established by the Ministry of Education in 1871 (Meiji 4). It was abolished once, but changed into the English department, special department, preparatory department, etc. of Tokyo Women's Normal School before becoming the attached high school.
