He lectured on Indian philosophy at Peking University, but aspired to revitalize rural areas, becoming a teacher and head of education at the Henan Village Governance College, and the following year he worked on the "village construction movement" at the Shandong Village Construction Research Institute. After the founding of the Republic, he attended the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in 1951 as a member, but in 1955 his previous "village governance" theory was criticized, and he criticized himself at the Plenary Session of the CPPCC in February of the following year. …
