Japanese: 安宿王 - あすかべおう

Years of birth: unknown. A member of the imperial family and an official in the Nara period. Son of Nagaya no O and Nagagako, the daughter of Fujiwara no Fuhito. In the Nagaya no O Incident in 729, he was spared the death penalty along with Obun no O and Yamashiro no because his mother was Fuhito's daughter. In 729, he was promoted from no rank to Junior Fifth Rank, Lower, and in 730, he was promoted to Junior Fourth Rank, Upper. He served as Jibukyo, Nakatsukasa Daifu, and other positions before serving as the governor of Sanuki. In 757, he was exiled to Sado Province (Niigata Prefecture) with his wife and children for participating in the conspiracy of Tachibana Naramaro (Tachibana Naramaro Incident). He was later pardoned and given the surname Takashina no Masato in 773. He has two poems published in the Manyoshu. He owned houses and estates in Higashio and Nishio counties in Settsu Province (Osaka City), but sold them to Todaiji Temple in 752.

奈良時代の皇族,官人。長屋王と藤原不比等の娘長峨子の子。天平1(729)年長屋王の変では,母が不比等の娘という理由で,黄文王,山背王と共に死罪を免れた。同9年無位から従五位下に昇り,同12年には従四位上に進む。治部卿,中務大輔などを経て讃岐守を務めた。天平宝字1(757)年橘奈良麻呂の陰謀(橘奈良麻呂の変)に加わった罪によって,妻子と共に佐渡国(新潟県)に配流された。のち許され宝亀4(773)年高階真人姓を賜った。『万葉集』に歌2首を載せる。摂津国東生,西生両郡(大阪市)に家,庄地を所有していたが,天平勝宝4(752)年東大寺に売却した。
