Imazigh

The name Berber is said to come from the Latin word barbarus, which means uncivilized people living outside the Roman world. They call themselves Imazighen (singular Amazigh, meaning "people of noble birth"). Racially, they belong to the Caucasian race, but there is a wide range of variation in both physique and appearance, and they are divided into four sub-races.
