Nephew or son of King Giji. In the first year of the reign of Emperor Kogyoku (642), he was exiled to an island following the death of King Giji's mother. In the same year, he came to Japan as an ambassador and was invited to the residence of Soga no Emishi. He later moved to Oi, Baekje (Kawachinagano City, Osaka Prefecture).
