Born November 6, 1402. Son of Kujo Tsunenori. Hosso sect. In 1401 he became the head priest of Daijo-in Temple at Kofuku-ji Temple in Nara, and from 1408 he served as the head priest at the same temple four times. In 1411 he became the chief priest. In 1416 he retired to Hoju-ji Temple against the orders of Ashikaga Yoshinori. In 1418 he built a castle on Mt. Onisono and fought against Tsutsui Jun'ei and others, but was defeated and fled to An'i-ji Temple. He died August 27, 1422. He was 79 years old. He was commonly known as An'i-jidono.
