...The uropygid is long and large, rod-shaped, near the rear end of the abdominal telson. The suborder Asellota includes the families Asellota and Alcyonidae. Many species live in groundwater, including the large A. kawamurai , which can reach a body length of up to 3cm and is nearly colorless. It is found in the groundwater of caves and wells in the Kinki, Shikoku, and Kyushu regions.
