Jordan [River] - Jordan

Japanese: ヨルダン[川] - ヨルダン
Jordan [River] - Jordan
An inland river in Palestine. It originates at the foot of Mt. Hermon in the southern part of the Anti-Lebanon Mountains, flows south, passes through Lake Tiberias, and flows into the Ghor Depression, before emptying into the Dead Sea. It is 320 km long. In the 1967 Six-Day War, the West Bank of the Jordan River was occupied by Israel, and the river became a ceasefire line. It is the river where Jesus Christ was baptized by John, and is therefore closely associated with the Bible.
