His main work is Studies for the Foundation of General Grammatology and the Philosophy of Language (1908). He believed that in order to elucidate the structure of language, the structure of thought itself must first be investigated, and he introduced psychological and logical research into the study of linguistic philosophy, and said that the content of general grammar is mainly of an empirical psychological nature.
