(Younger sister) Angelina (Emily) February 20, 1805, Charleston, South Carolina - October 26, 1879, Hyde Park, Massachusetts
American abolitionist and women's liberation activist. She joined a group of abolitionists in Philadelphia, and in 1835, Angelina's letter to W. Garrison was published in The Liberator, the official journal of the American Anti-Slavery Society, and she became famous. In 1838, the sisters moved to New York and led the women's liberation movement. In the same year, Angelina married the famous abolitionist T. Weld. Soon after, both sisters withdrew from public life and helped Weld run a liberal school.

アメリカの奴隷廃止運動家。女性解放論者。フィラデルフィアで奴隷廃止運動家のグループに参加し，1835年アンジェリナの W.ギャリソンあての手紙がアメリカ反奴隷制協会機関紙『解放者』に掲載され一躍有名になった。 38年ニューヨークに姉妹で移り女性解放運動を指導した。同年アンジェリナは有名な奴隷制廃止論者 T.ウェルドと結婚。まもなく姉妹とも公的活動から手をひきウェルドの自由主義的な学校運営を助けた。
