…This process of evangelization largely coincides with historical fact, but Luke's description of the linear development of Christianity from Jerusalem to Rome shows a strong tendency toward Jerusalem-centrism, and does not necessarily coincide with historical fact. From Paul's letters and gospels, we can assume that Christian communities were established in places other than Jerusalem, such as around Galilee, that Christians who were inclined toward Judaism from Jerusalem independently of Paul brought a different gospel to the churches of Galatia, Philippi, and Corinth, and that people who carried the tradition of Jesus' words entered Syria from Palestine, and some of them formed a community (the so-called Q sect). We can also infer from the Acts of the Apostles that churches were established not only in Rome but also in Alexandria independently of Peter and Paul. The beliefs of the early church can be broadly divided into the following two categories based on the traditions premised in Paul's letters and gospels. …
