Radicalism is a term that has been used historically in England and France to refer to a specific political attitude and political group that sought to realize democratic political reform, and it has almost the character of a proper noun. It first came into use in England in the late 18th century as a term to indicate the parliamentary reform movement known as James Fox's Radical Reform.
