Orlon
A brand name for an acrylic fiber manufactured by DuPont in the United States. It is made by dissolving polyacrylonitrile [CH 2 -CH(CN)](/n) in dimethylformamide (CH 3 ) 2 N・CHO and dry spinning it. It has a wide range of uses, including for tents, curtains, canvas, knitwear, and blankets, due to its strong resistance to sunlight.
