Rubus; raspberry

Japanese: キイチゴ(木苺) - キイチゴ(英語表記)Rubus; raspberry
Rubus; raspberry
A general term for the Rubus genus in the Rosaceae family. More than 80 species grow wild in Japan. They are upright or climbing woody or herbaceous plants. The fruits are berry-like aggregates that ripen in red, yellow, or black and have a sweet-sour taste. The name 'raspberry' can also refer to the Japanese strawberry, which grows on the coasts of warm regions of Japan and is often planted on residential premises. The European rubus, R. idaeus, is also cultivated and eaten raw or processed into jams.
