Criminal cases involving minors under the age of 20 are sent to the family court, but this procedure is used when it is deemed necessary to impose criminal punishment on those guilty of capital punishment, penal servitude, or incarceration.

〘名〙① (━する) 送り返すこと。※硝子戸の中（1915）〈夏目漱石〉一四「封のまま先方へ逆送(ギャクソウ)して貰った」② 少年法に基づき、家庭裁判所が少年事件を検察官に送致する手続き。二〇歳未満の未成年者の刑事事件は家庭裁判所に送られるが、死刑、懲役、禁固罪にあたる事件について、刑事処分を必要と認める場合、この送致の手続きがとられる。
