[Born] 1874 [Died] 1956 Head of the Nagauta shamisen school. Son of Kineya Saburosuke VI. In 1888, he took the stage name Kineya Rokushiro III, and in 1926 changed his stage name from Kineya to Kineya. In 2002, together with Yoshizumi Kosaburo IV, he organized the Nagauta Kenseikai, and contributed to the development of Nagauta as home music. In 1929, he became a lecturer at the Tokyo Music School, and in 1936, a professor at the same school. In 1939, he handed over the stage name Rokushiro to his eldest son Saburosuke VII (1904-1987), and became the Kineya Jōkan II. In 1948, he became a member of the Japan Art Academy, and in 1955, he was awarded the Order of Culture. His compositions include "Yokobue" and "Genkō (Mongol Invasion)." After the formation of the Kenseikai, he collaborated with Kosaburo and composed such works as "Uki Daijin," "Kibun Daijin," "Kanzan Jittoku," and "Oshichi Kichisa."
