Janibeg Khan (English spelling)

...The first time the ethnic name appears in history is in the mid-15th century. At that time, under pressure from the Uzbek Abu al-Khayr Khan, a nomadic group led by Jānībeg Khan, a descendant of the royal family that ruled the left wing of the Kipchak Khanate, migrated from the Syr Darya basin to the northern foothills of the western Tianshan. They were called Uzbek Qazaq or simply Qazaq (meaning wanderers or adventurers), and they expanded their influence into the Kipchak steppe (Kazakhstan), absorbing those who had left Uzbekistan.
