Chemical formula: _B3N3H6 . _It _is _a colorless liquid with an aromatic odor, obtained by reacting boron trichloride with ammonium chloride to produce _{trichloroborazole} _B3N3H3Cl3 , which is then reduced with lithium tetrahydroborate _LiBH4 . _Its melting point is -58°C, boiling point is 53°C, and specific gravity is 0.81 (liquid, near the boiling point), 1.00 (solid, near the melting point). Its molecular structure is a planar regular hexagon similar to that of benzene, and the B-N bond has pi-bonding properties. It is also known as inorganic benzene because it behaves similarly to benzene, with hydrogen atoms being replaced by alkyl and allyl groups.
