Yoshiyama Akira - Kissan Mincho
A painter-monk in the early Muromachi period. A native of Awaji. Also known as "Myocho." He entered Tofukuji Temple as a disciple of Daido Ii and was called Chodenshi because he was in the position of densu (master priest) . His other name was Hasouai . He excelled in Buddhist paintings, portraits of Taoist and Buddhist figures, and portraits, and his works include "Great Nirvana," "Five Hundred Arhats," and "Portrait of Shoichi Kokushi." From the first year of Bunwa to the third year of Eikyo ( 1352-1431 ).
