The legend that the two stars Altair and Vega meet on this night dates back to the early Six Dynasties period, and it later transformed into the Kikko Festival, where women pray for improvement in their handicraft skills. July 15th is a common holiday for both Taoism and Buddhism, and is characterized by the Obon festival, where families worship their ancestors and temples save the lost dead.
