Born: November 11, 1791 in Kecskemét [Died] April 16, 1830. Kecskemét Hungarian playwright. He studied law at university and worked as a lawyer while also writing plays, translating, and dramatizing German novels. In 1814, his tragedy Jeruzsálem pusztulása (The Fall of Jerusalem) was well received. He was always interested in the struggle between the ruling class and the people, and the tragedy Bánk Bán (1815) is the culmination of his work, but it was not allowed to be performed during his lifetime.
