A power of attorney in which some fields, such as the name of the agent and the entrusted matters, are left blank and the other party or other person is asked to fill them in. Examples of powers of attorney with a blank agent name include blank powers of attorney for the exercise of voting rights at shareholders' meetings and blank powers of attorney in which one party to a contract leaves the other party to the contract to choose their representative for the resolution of any disputes that may arise later regarding the contract. Examples of powers of attorney with a blank matter of attorney include blank powers of attorney in which the agent fills in the matters when entrusting the creation of a notarized deed according to the instructions of the notary public. A blank power of attorney becomes effective as a power of attorney when the person entrusted with filling in the blanks fills in the blanks. If a person other than the person with the right to fill in the blanks fills in the blanks, or if the person with the right to fill in the blanks abuses their right to fill in the blanks, it often becomes an apparent agency.
