Kitasenba

...The name of the three Osaka districts in the Edo period, and the commercial center of modern and contemporary Osaka City. The area was bounded by the Tosabori River to the north, the Higashiyokobori River to the east, the Nagahori River (now Nagahori-dori) to the south, and the Nishiyokobori River (now under the Hanshin Expressway Loop Line) to the west, and was divided into Kita-Senba and Minami-Senba by the Honmachi-dori street. Kita-Senba belonged to the Kita group of the three Osaka districts, and is now part of Higashi-ku, Osaka City, while Minami-Senba south of Honmachi is part of the Minami group, and is now part of Minami-ku.
