Kobe
A city in the southeastern part of Hyogo Prefecture. The prefectural capital. A designated city. It faces Osaka Bay. In ancient times, Owada night Owada no Tomari It was later renovated by Taira no Kiyomori. Hyogo Tsu Hyogo It was called "Osaka Port". 兵庫県南東部の市。県庁所在地。指定都市。大阪湾に臨む。古代、大輪田泊おおわだのとまりとして知られ、のち、平清盛が改修して兵庫津ひょうごのつとよばれた。慶応3年(1867)の開港後、国際港として急速に発展。阪神工業地帯の一中心。平成7年(1995)阪神・淡路大震災の被害を受けた。名称は生田いくた神社の神戸かんべに由来。人口154.5万(2010)。
