A Mesolithic culture found in the northern half of France and Belgium. It is thought to have coexisted in parts with the Neolithic culture. Some researchers today do not acknowledge the existence of this culture. It was discovered at the end of the 19th century at an archaeological site of the same name on the outskirts of Paris. It is characterized by a special stone tool called the Campigny axe. Microliths have also been found. Along with the Magremosese and Eltebeere cultures, it is a culture adapted to forested areas.
