?-967 The first ruler of Kerman, Iraq, during the Buyid dynasty (reigned Iraq 945-967, Kerman 936-949). He was the youngest of the three Dayramite brothers who founded the dynasty. His real name was Ahmad. Muizz ad-Dawla was a title bestowed on him by the Abbasid caliph in 946, meaning "strengthener of the dynasty." From then on, he held the position of Grand Amir (Amir al-Umarā) for the rest of his life. Among his achievements were the establishment of ruling power by organizing a slave army, the implementation of the military iqta system, and the development of court culture by protecting literati.
