…The official spelling is “tsuri-bari (fishing hook).” There are three main types: “bait fishing hook,” “fake bait hook,” and “hook hook.” These are further divided into “for river fishing” and “for sea fishing,” but in reality, there are many different types for different target fish species. The most common of these is the “bait fishing hook,” which has bait attached to the end of the hook so that the metal part is not visible, while the “nobenawa (fishing line)” requires the time-consuming task of attaching bait to many hooks attached to the end of a long line.
