In October of the same year, he sent troops to rescue Shiokawa Masatoshi at Ikku Castle in Settsu Province, which was under attack by Miyoshi Norinaga and Masanaga, who were on Harumoto's side, but in November of the same year, he made a peace agreement with Harumoto. In March of the eleventh year of the eleventh year, when Nagamasa expelled his lord, Masakuni Hatakeyama, and tried to welcome his brother, Tanenaga Hatakeyama, from Kii Province, Nagamasa assisted Masakuni in attacking Tanenaga at Takaya Castle in Kawachi Province (Habikino City). However, he was counter-attacked by Nagamasa and Tanenaga, and was defeated in the battle at Taiheiji Temple on March 17 of the same year, captured, and stabbed to death.
