Also known as non-voting stock. In the past, the Japanese Commercial Code limited voting rights to preferred stocks with respect to dividends, but the 2001 amendment to the Commercial Code allowed for restrictions on voting rights regardless of dividends. Voting rights can also be restricted only on certain matters. For investors who are only interested in dividends, this type of stock is an appropriate form.
