Sakae Kikuya

Japanese: 菊谷栄 - きくやさかえ

1901-1937 A playwright and director from the early Showa period.
Born in 1901. In 1930, he was in charge of the stage set for the Asakusa New Casino Folies. In 1932, he became a member of the literary club of the Enoken (Enomoto Kenichi) troupe, and released a popular work that brought out the charm of Enoken's singing. He died in battle in China on November 10, 1937. He was 37 years old. He was from Aomori Prefecture. He graduated from Nihon University. His real name was Eizo. His works include "Nihon no Yotamono" and "Minyo Rokku Daigaku".

明治34年生まれ。昭和5年浅草新カジノフォーリーの舞台装置を担当。7年エノケン(榎本健一)一座の文芸部員となり話題作を発表,歌うエノケンの魅力をひきだした。昭和12年11月10日中国で戦死。37歳。青森県出身。日大卒。本名は栄蔵。作品に「日本の与太者」「民謡六大学」など。
