Expiration of period - Kikanmanryo

In law, the passage of a period is often given a certain legal effect (prescription, the duration of a land lease, the period for appeals, etc.). Something that should be distinguished from a period is a "deadline." A deadline is also not an instant, but has a certain length of time, but is not a concept that focuses on the length of time that has passed, but on the point at which a certain act or event that has legal significance should be performed at a certain point in time (deadline) (payment deadline, oral argument deadline, voting date, etc.).
