Born in the 28th year of the reign of King Gojong. Participated in the March 1st Independence Movement in 1919 and was imprisoned. Worked as editor-in-chief of the Chosun Ilbo and a member of the Shinkanho, and after liberation served as vice-chairman of the Korean Founding Preparation Committee and leader of the Kuomintang. During the Korean War, he was taken from South Korea to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Died on March 1, 1965, aged 75. Born in Gyeonggi Province. Graduated from Waseda University.
