〘Noun〙 One of the army ceremonies held in the old military. A ceremony in which the emperor inspected the troops on occasions such as the Tencho Festival, the Army's inauguration, and special large-scale maneuvers. It is divided into a military review and a parade ceremony. It began in 1868 ( Keio 4 ), but the name is said to have come from 1877 ( Meiji 10 ). *Tokyo Nichi Nichi Shimbun - March 2, 1882 (Meiji 15), "When the military review could not be held due to rain and snow at the time of the Army's inauguration" Source: The Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary About the Selected Edition of the Japanese Language Dictionary Information |
