Born: October 2, 1847 in Ivanovo Died December 3, 1882. Petersburg. Russian revolutionary. After leading the student movement in Petersburg in 1868, he fled to Switzerland in March 1869, where he came into contact with MK Bakunin, NP Ogarev, and others, and returned to Russia in August. In order to promote the Russian revolutionary movement, he created a fictitious organization called the "Union of European Revolutionaries," and organized a secret circle called the "People's Tribunal" as its Russian branch. In November, due to organizational conflicts, he killed II Ivanov and fled to Switzerland, but in 1872 he was arrested by Swiss authorities, put on trial in Moscow, and imprisoned in the Peter and Paul Fortress. Dostoevsky wrote about him in "Demons." Source: Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopedia About Encyclopaedia Britannica Concise Encyclopedia Information |
