They can be found on soybeans and other legumes from summer to autumn, and grow continuously like ryuryu. They are prized as songbirds. [1][一] 中国、河北省南部の都市。戦国時代、趙の都としてもっとも栄えた。華北平原と山西の丘陵地帯を結ぶ交通の要地。ハンタン。→邯鄲の夢・邯鄲の枕。[二] 謡曲。四番目物。各流。作者不詳。古名「邯鄲枕」「盧生(ろせい)」。唐の沈既済の「枕中記」に見える「邯鄲の枕」の故事に取材したもの。[三] 常磐津、長唄の曲名。[2] 〘名〙① (「邯鄲」はあて字で、その声からいうか) バッタ（直翅）目カンタン科の昆虫。体長一三ミリメートル内外。体は扁平で細長く、淡い黄緑色であるが死後は黄褐色に変わる。頭は小さく前胸部は台形。前ばねは透明で、うしろばねは細長く、たたむと尾状になる。触角は糸状で体長の二倍くらいある。夏から秋に、大豆などのマメ科植物上にみられ、リューリューと続けてなく。鳴虫として珍重される。日本各地、中国、朝鮮などに分布。《季・秋》※東京風俗志（1899‐1902）〈平出鏗二郎〉下「邯鄲(カンタン)、鉦叩など、間々数寄者の間に飼養せらる」② 「かんたん（邯鄲）の枕」の故事のこと。また、その故事から、枕して眠ること。睡眠。※藤河の記（1473頃）「邯鄲遊仙のたのしびもかくこそとおぼえし也」
