Born: 1434. Constantinople Died: 1501. Messina. Greek grammarian who fled to Italy. After the fall of Constantinople in 1453, he moved to Milan and became a teacher for the Sforza family. He later taught Greek in Naples and Messina, and left behind many valuable Greek manuscripts. His "Erotemata" (1476) has long been valued as a good book on Greek grammar.
