It is one of the main components of borate mineral aggregates that develop in special sedimentary rocks. It is native to the Kramer region of Kern County, California, USA. Here, along with borax, it is found in layers in clayey mudstone as megacrystals several tens of centimeters in diameter. Boron is thought to have been supplied from hot springs in geological times. It was named after its place of origin. [Akira Kato] [References] | | | | | | [Additional information] |Source: Shogakukan Encyclopedia Nipponica About Encyclopedia Nipponica Information | Legend |
