Filling grass - groaning grass

Japanese:
Filling grass - groaning grass

The original meaning is grass or brush used to fill holes. By analogy, it refers to small articles or miscellaneous writings that are inserted into unexpected gaps when arranging or composing newspapers, or when assembling magazine articles into pages. These are usually not related to "freshness," such as articles that are discarded (unused), topics or reading material related to the main text, or announcements or small advertisements that can be used repeatedly, and are always prepared by the editorial department.
