Dry heat transfer

Japanese:
Dry heat transfer

...This is a technique in which a transfer paper made by printing dyes on paper is attached to a textile product and heat is applied to transfer the dye from the paper to the textile product. It is a very special type of printing. A similar technique is wet heat transfer, in which the dye or pigment is transferred from the transfer paper and then wet heating such as steaming is used to develop the color, but dry heat transfer, in which disperse dyes are dry heated and transferred by sublimation, is important. Historically, it was developed by the French company Masseur in 1958, but since then, with the selection of disperse dyes, binders, and dispersants, this dry heat transfer technique has been well received for its simplicity, good reproducibility, energy saving, and ease of availability, and it has become possible to purchase transfer paper made by a printing company and transfer at home with an iron.
