Public broadcasting in the Republic of Korea. It was originally the Korean Broadcasting Corporation, established in 1927 under Japanese rule. It was nationalized after World War II and became a public broadcasting station in 1973. It operates both television and radio, collects reception fees, but also broadcasts commercials.
