...The Hata clan donated this to Shuri-no-dayu Fujiwara Akisue, and it was passed on to Akisue's granddaughter, Empress Bifukumon'in Tokuko, who was the retired Emperor Toba's wife. In 1136 (Hōen 2), it was officially established by Toba-inchocho, and Yano-sho was named as Bifukumon'in's territory. Bifukumon'in founded Kankikōin as a temple of her own will, and Yano-sho became her territory, but after her death, it was passed on to her son, Hachijōinshi. In 1167 (Jin'an 2), Bifukumon'in's wet nurse, Hoki no Tsubone, was given the position of lord of Yano-sho, and at that time it was decided that part of Yano-sho should be used for Kankikōin temple purposes. ...
