A town in Kamikawa District, central Hokkaido. Located roughly halfway between Asahikawa and Shibetsu, it is served by the Soya Main Line and the Do-o Expressway. To the north lies the Nayoro Basin. The town produces rice, cabbage, pumpkins, and western vegetables. It was developed by a group settler in 1901. Area: 225.11 km2 . Population: 3,832 (2010).
