...The seeds are used in Chinese medicine as Wangjiangnanzi, and are used in the same way as the seeds of the Siberian laurel. The Cassia genus, to which the Siberian laurel belongs, is a large genus of the legume family with about 450 species, mainly in the tropics. It includes medicinal plants such as the famous Senna, C. angustifolia Vahl., C. fistula L., and C. nodosa L., and many species have beautiful flowers, and several species are cultivated in tropical parks and flower beds. The high-quality timber used for furniture, crafts, and architecture is also a member of this genus, distributed in mainland Southeast Asia.
