…In Europe, the International Union of Students (headquartered in Brussels) was formed in 1919 as a student welfare organization, and during World War II in France and Italy, it carried out resistance movements against the German occupying forces. In 1942, the International Council of Students (headquartered in London) was formed with the aim of anti-fascism, and in November 1945, after World War II, the first international student conference after the war was held in Prague with the participation of 255 representatives from 51 countries. This led to the founding of the International Union of Students (IUS) by 43 student organizations from 39 countries. This international union expanded from Europe to Asia, Africa, and Latin America, which were linked to the struggle for national independence, and by 1967, it had expanded to include 87 student organizations from 82 countries, and continues to exist today. …

…ヨーロッパでは1919年，学生の福祉的な組織として国際学生連合(本部ブリュッセル)が結成され，第2次世界大戦中フランスやイタリアなどではドイツ占領軍に対する抵抗運動を行った。42年，反ファシズムをめざして国際学生評議会(本部ロンドン)が結成され，第2次大戦後の45年11月，51ヵ国255人の代表が参加してプラハで戦後はじめての国際学生大会が開かれ，それをきっかけに39ヵ国43学生組織によって国際学生連盟International Union of Students(IUS)が創立された。この国際学連はヨーロッパから，民族独立闘争と結びついたアジア，アフリカ，ラテン･アメリカ地域へと組織をひろげ，67年には82ヵ国87学生組織の加盟へと拡大，今日にいたっている。…
