Kawagoe Railway - Kawagoe Railway

...The main lines are the Ikebukuro Line between Ikebukuro, Agano and Seibu Chichibu, the Seibu Chichibu Line and the Shinjuku Line between Seibu Shinjuku and Hon-Kawagoe, as well as the branch lines such as the Seibu Yurakucho Line, Kokubunji Line, Tamako Line and Haijima Line, and the Tamagawa Line between Musashi-Sakai and Koremasa. The predecessor of the Shinjuku Line was the Kawagoe Railway (later Seibu Railway), founded in 1892, and the predecessor of the Ikebukuro Line was the Musashino Railway, founded in 1912. The two companies merged in 1945 to become the Seibu Agricultural Railway, which adopted its current name in 1946.
