An old town in Kitasaitama District, northeastern Saitama Prefecture. Located on the right bank of the Tone River, rice cultivation has been thriving since ancient times, and the paddy fields are extensive. Strawberries are also produced. An industrial complex has been developed and urbanization is progressing. The town uses Kurihashi Station on the Tohoku Main Line and Tobu Nikko Line, which are located in the neighboring city of Kuki.
