An old town in Kitasaitama District, northeastern Saitama Prefecture. Located on the right bank of the Tone River, rice cultivation has been thriving since ancient times, and the paddy fields are extensive. Strawberries are also produced. An industrial complex has been developed and urbanization is progressing. The town uses Kurihashi Station on the Tohoku Main Line and Tobu Nikko Line, which are located in the neighboring city of Kuki. 埼玉県北東部,北埼玉郡の旧町。利根川右岸に位置し,古くから米作が盛んで,水田が広い。イチゴも産する。工業団地が造成され,都市化が進む。隣接する久喜市にある東北本線,東武日光線の栗橋駅を利用する。2010年3月加須市,北埼玉郡騎西町,北川辺町と合併。24.47km2。1万4521人(2005)。
