One of the family names (surnames). [1] A clan (Takafuji line) whose founder was Takafuji, the grandson of Fuyutsugu of the Northern House of the Fujiwara clan. When Takafuji's son Sadakata built the west pagoda of Kanshuji Temple (Yamashina, Kyoto), a clan descended from Takafuji and supported the temple as its clan temple, and was called the Kanshuji line (a clan). In addition to Kanroji, which is considered the main line, other clans such as Hamuro, Manri-koji, Kanshuji, Seikanji, Nakamikado, and Bojo were born from this clan. This clan is characterized by the fact that many of its members were highly valued as practical officials such as Kurodo-no-kami and Benkan. [2] The Kanshuji clan in (1) split off in the generation following Suketsune in the late Kamakura period, when his first son Tametsune inherited the Kanroji line, and his fourth son Sukemichi established the Manri-koji line, and the line whose founder was the second son Tsunetoshi is called the Kanshuji family. Since the Muromachi period, there have been many samurai who became denso (samurai tutelary vassals), such as Tsuneshige, Norihide, Harutoyo, and Mitsutoyo in the Edo period, and Tsunehiro and Tsuneitsu in the Edo period, and they are known to have been at the center of relations between the Imperial Court and the military. In the early modern period, the family was a famous family. The family stipend was 708 koku.

家名(姓氏)の一つ。[一] 藤原北家冬嗣の孫高藤を祖とする一門(高藤流)。高藤の男定方が、勧修寺(京都山科)の西塔を建てたことにより、同寺を氏寺としてあおぐ、高藤の流れをくむ一門が形成され、これが勧修寺一流(一門)と称された。一門の中から、嫡流とされる甘露寺のほか、葉室・万里小路・勧修寺・清閑寺・中御門・坊城などの家流が生じた。この一門には、蔵人頭や弁官などの実務官人として、重用された者が多いのが特徴とされる。[二] (一)の勧修寺一門は、鎌倉後期の資経の次代に分かれて、一男為経が甘露寺家の流れを嗣ぎ、四男資通が万里小路家を興すが、そこで二男の経俊を祖とする流を、勧修寺家とよぶ。室町期以来、経成・教秀・晴豊・光豊、江戸期の経広・経逸など、武家伝奏となったものはきわめて多く、公武関係の中枢にあったことが知られる。近世の家格は名家。家祿は七〇八石。
