Born on February 26, 1902. In 1930, he won a prize in an international design competition for the Kharkov Theatre in Ukraine, drawing attention. In 1932, he opened the Institute of Architecture and Crafts (later renamed the New Architecture and Crafts Academy) in Tokyo's Ginza district, where he taught Bauhaus-style design. He passed away on June 18, 1975, at the age of 73. He was born in Tokyo and graduated from Tokyo Higher Technical School (now Tokyo Institute of Technology).
